Shropshire Family History Society Library

The Society maintains a Library of over 1100 items that are held within a storage unit. Items can be borrowed by Members Only who regularly attend the monthly meetings, for collection and return.

The Library is divided into three sections:-

• General books and maps. Link to SFHS Library for Loan. Last updated on 8^th November 2023
• Transactions of the Shropshire Archaeological and Historical Society. Link to Transactions. Last updated on 8^th June 2023.
• Out of County Printed Parish Registers. Link to Out of County Registers. Last updated on 16^th May 2012.

It is recommended that the above files are searched using words of your interest, by the use of the “find” facility in your pdf viewer. The “Location” reference and “Title” name of the required item should then be noted for ordering purposes.

Items may be requested by sending an email to library@sfhs.org.uk stating all the following details:-

• SFHS Membership Number.
• Forename.
• Surname.
• Location, reference for each item.
• Title, name for each item.
• Monthly meeting date for collection “at least 7 days notice must be given”.

The items will then be available for collection at the requested monthly meeting and should be returned at the next monthly meeting.

The society is always welcome to accept any donations of items that have a Genealogy or Shropshire connection especially any of the missing sections of the Transactions of the S.A&H.Society.
