Hi.

In 1921 census one of my relatives is recorded as living in Greyhound Passage in Shrewsbury. Does anyone know if it is still in existence in the town? Living in Suffolk means I'm not able to come & check myself! Much obliged if I get replies!

Hello Keith

Looking at the 1921 Census web site it lists 4 properties in Greyhound Passage, Chester Street in the parish of St Mary, Shrewsbury.

You can view an old large scale map of the area on the National Library of Scotland web site using this link but I can't see Greyhound Passage named on this particular map.  It is possible you might be able to find it on a different map at a different scale.

Unfortunately this area has been almost completely redeveloped in the last fifty years or so, so it is most unlikely you can find any trace of the properties on the ground now.

This link will show you a modern view of Chester Street in Google Streetview.
