William Deakin is my maternal grandfather about whom I know very little. He was born in Wem and spent sometime as a young person on Puddol Farm. I understand he had a cousin Jack Deakin who had an arm missing due to a farming accident. Any information welcome. I will be in Wem myself in June 2014. Would love to find a map of Puddol Farm

It might be Paddol Farm, as there is a Paddol Green near Wem.

Hello

Following on from the previous reply, which I am sure is correct, I have been unable to find any trace of Paddol Farm so I am wondering whether your relative lived on 'a farm' at Paddol Green (now Paddolgreen) rather than a farm called Paddol Green Farm.

To give us a better chance of helping you please tell us the date of birth and death of your grandfather, at least as near as you can if you don't have the exact dates. Also have you found him on any census and if so which ones and what was his wife's name?

Mike
