I am trying to find the christening record of Thomas PAYNE born 1786. Census entries give both Downton and Bringewood Forge as places of birth for him.
Myself and a relative believe his parents to be Eleanor and James, and have found christening records for other children belonging to this couple in the parish records of Downton (I know it's Herefordshire) but can't find Thomas'.
Any suggestions?
I would like to definitely find out if Eleanor and James are his parents.

If you look at the England Jurisdictions 1851 page on Family Search it would appear that Downton is in Downton parish as expected but Bringewood Forge is just in Burrington parish so that might be worth exploring.
