Hi, that was quick thanks. I didnt realise Wellington was that close to Oakengates. So yes!! I think this is him.He died in Kingswinford, Stafford in 1853. He was married in Dudley in 1835, but lived in Kingswinford. Where did you find this information? Brilliant, thanks.

      Hi Karen and Angela,

This family name was still in existence in the Oakengates area in the 1970s, so maybe some, as yet unknown, relations still around Oakengates Telford?

         Try telephone directory.

              Gulielmus.

The WILKES family are his in laws. An interesting fact on the 1851 censors, Keziah and Samual were both recorded as deaf and dumb. Life must have been tough.

Yes, I noticed that when I saw the 1851 census. Brilliant name. I do love unusual names as it means that you can easily research the family, although sometimes there are various spellings. Good luck with your further research and glad that I was able to help.

Hi, I have just completed the Family History of the STODDART family you are looking for.

What is your conection to the family?

There are just 3 records I cannot find, they are:- the place and date of James and Isabella deaths,  the third one is the death of James and Peninnia's daughter Elizabeth.

Elizabeth married a John CAPEWELL in 1884 at Old Hill.

In the 1891 census they were living in Bromley lane, but they do not appear in the 1901 census.

If you require any info on the family I would be happy to pass it on.

Peter Stoddart
