I have just been searching the Shropshire Strays database on your site and have found a reference to Thomas Gregory who moved from Brignorth to Birmingham in 1714. This could well be my ancestor who ran away from his family in 1713. Please, does anyone know whether the Warwicks Poor Law Index is likely to give any further information than is shown in the database? Ginny
Thanks Mike. As you say, a good excuse for a day out, but a little too far from Sussex. I'll have to put it on my list of things to do and places to visit. If only I'd been interested in family history as a child when I lived in Coventry!!

Looking at the entry it appears that you will have to visit the (brand new) Birmingham Reference Library to check the Warwickshire Poor Law Index which I presume will then refer you to the Register of Immigrants 1686-1726 which hopefully might give you more information. A good excuse for a day out.
