Can anyone tell me where/how I can access information regarding burial records, I am searching for a Joseph Benjamin Davies who died in 1862. I am trying to find his approx. date of birth without buying a death certificate if possible.

Thanks Mike for the information. I live on the other side of the country so a visit is out of the question. I was hoping that a telephone call to a cemetery office holding the registers would get me the information.

There is a copy of the Shrewsbury Cemetery records on microfiche at Shropshire Archives so you have a good excuse for a trip to Shrewsbury.
Select 'Shrewsbury General Cemetery' near the bottom of this page for more information.
A plan of the cemetery can be downloaded direct from this site - see the nine images at the top right of this page - you want the black & white image.
