Researching the family of Richard COLLEY born 1763 Stoke on Tern married Elizabeth CHALLONER 7/1/1788.   My husband's family are directly decended from his son Richard born 1794 who married Catherine PURCELL 9/6/1818 Dawley Magna. Would be interested to hear from anyone researching same. Does anyone have info on the family further back than Richard born 1763? From the Richard born 1794? I have researched the family up to the present time. Thanks!!

Hi skala,

My family is through Richard's sister Ann b. 1805 Wellington

I have no direct record of his/her father Richard only 1763 from burial in Pensnett. As for birth place again from Pensnett census 1851 Stoke on T....?  which I favour Tern not Trent ( ie Shropshire )

Also his wife Elizabeth Challona was perhaps the one b. 1772 Stoke on Tern so a little clue there although marriage in Madeley.

Have you a definite birth of him in 1763 and are you saying Robert 1720 is his father?

I would be interested in your thoughts as I have another couple of problems with Richard & Elizabeth.

regards

Colin

Hi Margaret,

Thanks for your reply.

I do not subscribe to Find my Past ,  does the entry for Richard 1763 specifically state Stoke on Tern as I have never been able to find his details on any Parish Records.

I would love to know the exact transcription of his birth / baptism if you could supply them.

regards

Colin
