My g.grandparents marriage took place at the Register Office in the District of Atcham in the County of Salop. Can anyone tell me if this is the same as Shrewsbury Register Office, if not, where is it?
The Atcham Registration District derived its name and area from the old Poor Law area and to simplify its description it included Shrewsbury and most of the County of Shropshire west of Shrewsbury to the Welsh border.
