Hello,

I'm seeking anybody with Poulsons in their tree!

My Poulsons are predominantly from Shropshire and Montgomeryshire.

(Readers of a certain age may recall my grandmother's two soft-furnishing shops in Frankwell, called Hudson & Poulson.)

I have got back as far as the parents of a Poulson born in 1797 in my direct line.  (He was born out of wedlock, but we'll gloss over that...)

I feel there must be a link somewhere between Shropshire and Montgomery Poulsons and the huge number which live/lived in Staffordshire... but cannot find one!

So, I'd like to make contact with any Poulsons, relatives of Poulsons or just people with Poulsons in their trees.

Many thanks,

Ian Poulson

P.S. I've already been in contact with SFHS's Sue Poulson, no relation it seems.  And the Poulson in 'Moss and Poulson Solicitors' has, I am told, no interest in genealogy.

Hello Ian

Many years ago I dropped on a reference to a bare knuckle fighter, surname POULSON.

You might want to do a search for him if you haven't already come across him.

Hi Ian,

I Googled "Poulson - bare knuckle fighter" and came up with Harry Paulson 1819-1890. Give it a try. Hazel
