Hi again, my post last night was one of the topics that was lost and I hadn't the chance to note the 2 helpful replies I had received, so could I ask those members to repeat their information?

I am from the North East and researching my family tree, trying to trace back from Daniel Phillips, born in Wellington in December 1778, his parents are noted as Thomas and Mary Phillips

I am also visiting the Shropshire Archives on 21 October and I understand a member of the Society will be on a help desk? I also asked where the parts of Wellington are that may have existed in the 1700s? The Church? Crown Street?

Any info would be useful and I am sorry those responders are being asked to repeat themselves

I really don't want to try to repeat my posting; and suggest that you mail a landline phone number - I resent the cost of ringing mobiles - to our webmaster, who can then forward to me. Please suggest days and times of day. webmaster@sfhs.org.uk

This so-called profanity filter is becoming a real pain. What I wrote was t.i.m.e.s of day - dots here added.

Cannot some priority be given, Graham, to removing the filter for frquently-used words such as the synonym for shire?

Hi everyone, the previous postings to the Forum have, I'm afraid, been lost if they were made between 4AM Monday and 10AM today (Weds) or if they were made by certain users (details unknown). I regret this as much as anyone, but I don't have the time to personally do archives daily for the Society, so we have to rely on the Hosting Company and pay them accordingly. They can only restore a complete web-site not partially, so as to be able to select particular postings.

Apologies
WebMaster

The original of this thread has been "reconstituted" by telephone with Colin. We are now homing in on the marriage (which I have checked out) of Thomas Phillips and Mary Dawes 21.5.1765 at Broseley. Likely burials for them are in SBI at Wellington. allegations and bond for marriage licence to be sought.

For those who might be interested in the couple Thomas and Mary with issue in Madeley from 1760 their marriage is clearly that 18.10.1758 by licence at Cleobury Mortimer, he then described as of Madeley, waterman, she Mary Dallow.
