I am looking for a cottage near Clun.
It is or was called Peartree Cottage.
I have been told it was near a place called LLEWELLYN.
There is a road called LLWYN, but i've been up and down that road looking for my old cottage but found nothing.
The memories of the cottage is, a white washed walled cottage, front door facing onto the road, a small path leading from the gate to the door, I'm sure it's probably changed quite a bit, but if someone knows of a similar Cottage.
I heard it may have been turned into a holiday let or a bed and breakfast.
Thankyou

Google Maps, searching [ llwyn clun ] gives a satellite view, with a Firtree Cottage marked.
Thanks again Martyn - that's not my cottage, it's not on the old census, the time it would be is after the 1930's and the children of the owners revisited around the 80's early 90's and it was still peartree cottage then

Hello
The Firtree Cottage in Llwyn Road on Google is listed as Peartree Cottage on the Royal Mail Postcode Finder so I am not quite sure what is going on. Memories can sometimes get a bit confused and in any case there are at least two properties at this location, so which is which?
If you visit Shropshire Archives sometime you could go through some Voters Lists looking for the name of your family member and that should provide the address.

Thankyou Michael for this information, with the relatives getting much older and the brain getting a little slower, I'm pretty sure this has got to be the place, but unless your stood outside and the memories you do have start coming back, it's very difficult.
As i said before we are planning a much needed visit to the area, to track these places down, as i told my husband - your the last of the generation to recall all this information, better to spend a few days on some great sites like this and a trip to Shropshire for the next generation.
thanks again for all your help

Hello again. To assist some of the other "regulars" in solving this one, might you quote the full reference which you are trying to clarify? The context, such as Census, might have further clues.
