Could any member please say where I can obtain information on who is buried at this Chapel? It lies on the A53 Shawbury - Hodnet Road.  The Chapel's grid reference is SJ576226.

I have looked at FMP pre-1900 Shropshire Methodist Register without success.

I live in Altrincham, Cheshire so if there is a member who lives in the locality they may be able to assist me.  I am looking at the surnames of WILLIAMS, HIGGINGSON, OWEN and DAVIES.

Thank you.

Hello Vanessa

There is a transcript of the gravestones which was done just before it was converted to a private house.

You can buy a copy from the Shropshire FHS. Go to Shop (on the blue bar, top right) then select Shropshire FHS Publications Catalogue then on the next page select the link to the SFHS_Publications.pdf

The easiest way to find it is to press CTRL and F together to get the search box up and then just type Morton (Note the spelling) and press Enter.

I`m sure it was only a slip of the tongue Mike, but I am fairly certain the Moreton Mill Methodist Church/Chapel  continues in use as a Church/Chapel.

Vanessa and Jackie

Thank you to Jackie for spotting my mistake. Morton Mill is about one and a half miles out of Shawbury. The former chapel I referred to is about four miles out of Shawbury.
