Hello I am looking for a marriage of George WILKINSON to a Sarah, possibly at Wem say 1790/1800. They had a son baptised there 10th April 1800. Any help would be gratefully received. Best wishes Terence

Hello Terence

If you have a look at Part Two of the Wem Printed Parish Register on Mel Lockie's excellent site you will find that the Baptism you have already discovered is the only entry that mentions George WILKINSON but that gives his wife's name as Elizabeth NOT Sarah - so which marriage are you looking for?

There is no trace of his marriage (to Sarah or Elizabeth) or any other baptisms.

I have also looked in the Shropshire Marriage Index, available on CD-ROM from Shropshire FHS (see Shop top right above on blue bar) but there is no trace of the marriage to either bride there.

Looking in Boyd's Marriage Index on Find my Past there is a possible marriage between a George WILKINSON and Elizabeth SUTTON at Oswestry in 1793.  There is no other possible listed.  The Family Search web site gives the added information that this marriage was on 3 Sept 1793.

Family Search also lists a marriage between a George WILKINSON and Elizabeth REDFORD at Stockton, Shropshire on 12 Oct 1794 so you need to do checking.

The indexes mentioned above should cover all the possibilities for the marriage you are looking for.
