Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me find details of my grandmother Margaret Ellen THOMAS born c1888. Married to Albert REYNOLDS born 13/02/1893 (Bridgnorth 6a 580), 1911 living in 2 Beggar Hill Brook Bridgnorth Road, Much Wenlock.. She died 17/061930 in Wellington Cottage Hospital. The Hospital records only go to Feb 1930 I believe. The marriage cert gives no fathers name and I do not have a date or place of birth. There may be an obituary in The Wellington Journal but it is not available online. There may be a connection to Aldenham Park. Any clues as to where I might go from here?

The only thing that I suggest is that you send for the death of Margaret Ellen Reynolds as that would tell you dob of her ? and here it is if required;

Deaths Jun 1930
Reynolds Margaret E 42 Wellington Sh 6a 746

Then when you have that, you can then research the 1891 census as there are quite a few Margaret Ellen Thomas' in 1891 !!!

When I put a search in for Margaret Ellen Thomas in to 1891 census, there wasn't anyone really that fitted, BUT when I put in just MARGARET E Thomas in, there is only 1 child born CLUN in 1890 which is here BUT SEND FOR DEATH CERT FIRST TO FIND OUT WHERE SHE WAS BORN.

Surname Given Name District Volume Page
Births Sep 1889

I noticed that Henrietta Smith Thomas had died Dec Qtr 1891 in CLUN.

Hi Angela,The photo is probably from my cousin( Mike Simpson) who is also researching our family and found a blank. We do have the death certificate which gave us her age (42) home address and place of death (Wellington Cottage Hospital). It has no information about where she was born. No actual birth date either. I too have looked at the Margaret E from Clun but as we have no other family details on this side we would have no idea if this is the correct one or not. All the children are now deceased although Albert married again and had children who are alive today. Unfortunately, they do not have any memories of her, as she died before they were born, and they do not have any family papers to help either. As far as we can see there are no documents that hint at her past at all. The Photo we have is with her and young lad called 'our Jack'. We have no idea who he is. This photo was taken in Wrexham which may or may not be of significance (could be a holiday?).If you have any other thoughts it would be appreciated. Thanks.

            Hi Angela and Mikeandnessa,

   Not that I think it will be of much help,  but I believe Wigmore is in Herefordshire not Hertfordshire.

Hi, I have looked at this one before and found that both parents died and left the children to be looked after by what I think is an uncle as she and a sister are not with her parents in the next census. However, I am at a loss as to how I can prove if this is the correct Margaret E Thomas.Thanks Mike and Nessa
