Does anyone know where I might find an image copy of Kemberton Parish Records? I have found the marriage of William HARRIS and Mary HEYWARD at Kemberton on  26th October 1779 and the baptism of Mary at Kemberton on 10th May 1752. Both events are indexed in the Shropshire baptisms, marriages, burials in the Findmypast website, but there is no image of the marriage record.

Thanks

Hello Phil

The source of the marriage transcript is not given but note that her surname is indexed as HAYWARD with two 'a'.

It appears that the Kemberton marriages with images on FmP only go up to 1753 which is significant because a new register should have been started in 1754.  The later register should be at Shropshire Archives but it is not shown in their list so is it still in the parish?  SA do have the Banns book 1755-1812.

Many thanks for the info.

A related question if I may ... whilst searching on FMP I came across baptisms, etc (e.g. baptism of William and Richard HARRIS on 23rd August 1795)  for Madeley. Whilst FMP has images of the records neither  the "index" nor the image state the name of the Church where the events were held. Can I assume it would be St. Michaels, Madeley?

I have distant cousins from US visiting in next 2 weeks and they want to visit Churches etc where our ancestors lived. As I live in Kent I don't want to send them on a wild goose chase around Dawley (Holy Trinity), Broseley (All Saints),  Malinslee(St. Leonards),  Madeley, etc.!

Regards

Phil

Hello Phil

If your page doesn't have the name of the actual church then your only option is to move backwards or forwards through the pages until you find one (or some) that do include the information you need.

Some vicars are better at their paperwork than others. You could also try going to page 1 and see if you can get back to the cover but that may not be possible.
