Hi, I am trying to find out where in Ludlow my great great grandfather John CRANSTOUN and his wife Elizabeth are buried. John died in Jan 1890, Elizabeth in 1878. I think it's St. Leonards cemetery. John CRANSTOUN lived at Stanford House, 15 Broad St. I am visiting Ludlow and I would like to lay flowers on their grave.

Many thanks

If you contact Ludlow Library by email with the names and dates you have then hopefully they will look up the details for you.

Hello

Your relative John CRANSTOUN died on 3rd Feb 1890 age 78 years and is buried in the cemetery off the bottom of Corve Street, Ludlow.

When a transcript of the cemetery was made several years ago it was divided into several areas for convenience. The reference for the grave of John CRANSTOUN is B.c#.664.

When you enter the cemetery from Corve Street walk down the side of the church and then turn right across the back of the church. About half way across the back there should be a path on your left leading to a pedestrian gate at the far end. Walk towards the gate and just before you reach it there should be a path to your right coming back at an angle. Your ancestors grave stone should be on your right adjacent to that path and about half way along it.

Be aware, this is a large cemetery and individual stones can be difficult to locate. If you can't find it then visit the Ludlow Library and have a look at the drawings.

Mike
