It would appear that my ancestors may have been involved in the courts both times as plaintiffs in the 1850s and 1860s. I found the details in newspaper articles and they were awarded damages.
Would any one know if it is possible to find out the details of the cases and if so how whom to approach. I live in New Zealand so a visit to an archives is not a possibility at the moment unless I win a lottery
