I am interested in the family of William Gregory (bap. 31-3-1745. St. Leonard) , shoemaker of Bridgnorth. My link is through his marriage to Hannah Bebb (1798, St. Leonard) and their son Benjamin (bap. 30-12-1798 St. Leonard). Unfortunately I am only able to access online information as a trip to Shropshire is too much for a day trip. I suspect that William may have been married before, but I have no evidence.Is there anyone who has access to the parish records who could give me the date for William's marriage to Hannah (Pallot's index only gives the year) and/or could find an earlier marriage and subsequent death of this wife. I would be very, very grateful for any help which anyone could give. Ginny

Hi,

I answered this enquiry on another message board earlier today. I said;

I believe I’ve found the Church records you needed;

All at St. Leonard’s Church, Bridgnorth.

Christening on 10 March 1787 of Lucy and Anne (twins) daughters of Hannah BEBB. Base born.
Burial on 27 March 1797 of Mary, wife of William GREGORY.
Marriage on 31 Jan 1798 by Banns, of William GREGORY to Hannah BEBB. Both of the Parish. Both made their mark. Witnesses were John HILL, signed and Mary BEBB, her mark.
Christening on 30 Dec 1798 of Benjamin, son of William and Hannah GREGORY.
