Any info on the FORRISTER/FORRESTER familty from Moreton-Say sought.  I have researched back to 1800 circa Joseph and Mary married in 1793, but have only one line forward and none earlier.  Help appreciated.

Hello Dave
You haven't said what records you have obtained, or searched (e.g. census, IGI, Parish Registers etc).

I have no connection with the For(r)ester family, but from some local records relating to my own family in Moreton Say, I can give you the following:
1.  There are I think 5 graves in the old Churchyard (and adjoining cemetery) of St Margaret of Antioch Church, of Foresters between 1845 and 1984.  The oldest is of Joseph Forester of Moreton Wood who died in 1845 aged 81.  Also, his wife Mary died aged 76 in 1845.  Details of their grave (and others) with inscriptions transcribed, may be purchased in the SFHS booklet "St Margaret's Church Moreton Say Memorial Inscriptions" (see "Shop" > "Shropshire FHS Publications" > scroll down to page 20).   There is also a transcript of the Parish Registers 1691-1812, should you be unable to visit Shropshire Archives.
2.  Aforementioned Joseph may be one appearing in IGI as Christened 18th Mar 1764 (parents stated to be a Joseph and Sarah)
3. The Joseph (born 1764) also appears in the index of the 1851 (parish of) Moreton Say census.  A subscription to "Ancestry" or another source is required to see the full page record.  I do however also have one page of the 1851 Moreton Wood census for my own family where, living in a neighbouring property, is one William Forester Head marr. aged 65 (born 1796 Moreton Say and might therefore be a son of Joseph and Mary) Ag. Lab. with wife Mary aged 59, son William (26) ag.lab. son Samuel (19) ag.lab., dau Mary (15) and an 18 month old "child at nurse" (may be unrelated).
All these details are from a very quick look and unless checked out, may be unreliable conclusions.  But, hope they may be of some interest.

David

Hi David

- Thank you for the leads. I have already sent for the list of (5) MIs.  Someone from the area has just been in touch with a cousin via Ancestry, purely coincidence, and they are researching Forresters. Also Forrister, Forster, Foster, or Forester!
