I am looking for the birth of Enoch DAVIES, my GG grandfather.

He was a Charter Master, born in Wrockwardine Wood in 1816.

I have him in the 1841 and 1861 census, but not the 1851 census.

He died on 20th, May 1864 in St. Georges,  Lilleshall age 49. (I have the death certificate)

Sarah Davies was present at his death. Sarah does not appear in any of the family records at that time. The only Sarah Davies recorded at that time was in the 1861 census, age 26, born in Lilleshall and living in Wrockwardine Wood at (the) Nabb and working on the coal pit bank as a Labourer. Her parents were Charlotte and Thomas Davies.

I also wonder if the Jim Cooper Index may give some relevant information if he was a Lilleshall tenant

Hi there:

No luck finding a birth record for Enoch Davies, but a quick Ancestry search turned up a Moses Davies born around that same time in Wrockwardine, who married Sarah Lawfield (possibly "Corfield") in 1836.  Could Moses have been a brother to Enoch?  If so,  the Sarah Davies present at Enoch's death could have been his sister-in-law.  I found several census records for Enoch and Eleanor's family, as well as Moses and Sarah's.  Still don't know where Enoch was in 1851, but it appears that Eleanor and three of their children were living with her widowed father, William Ward.  That's about all I came up with.
