Hi, does any one recognise this building? I've been researching me family tree for over 20 years now and this photograph keeps on popping back up. Its 1890-1910 and i believe it to be a photo of Braziers in my family that come from Willey , Broseley and coalford (Jackfieild). I believe the building is pretty unique as i havent found a doorway with cast iron drainpipes eitherside cuting through the sandstone blocks and having three petaled rose brackets. On the door there is a partial sign which reads "other articles are admitted'. Would you find this phrase on a school, or maybe a church, town hall, bank or works etc?

Ive tried following the football link and ended up in scotland as they tended to present shields rather than the cups/trophys that the english tourniments did. i did come across a shropshire schoolboy shield but couldnt find any other information.

Following the unique brackets lead me to middlesborough town hall, Scotland again, and more northernly towns.

The most obvious places it could be is Broseley Church, either of the broseley schools. Broseley town hall (which no longer stands) Somewhere on the willey estate. Barrow school churches in jackfield, Maws, Coalport, ironbridge blue school, green school.

i've google len searched the photo and parts but cant find a match. Ive tried most of the schools and churches in shropshire. It could be from somewhere other than shropshire if they were playing away intercounty and the photo was took there. i hope someone can tell me where it is because is such a good photo.

I'd just like to say the photo has been colourised so bare that in mind rather than ruling out places with blue brick for etc.

Darren.

I came across the only article that mentioned a football shield being won and it mentions the Jackfield St. Martins Vs the Broseley Excelsiors and a Tudor Howell School shield being won by the team captined by the former Wrexham national school boy in the wellington journal saturday 12 Jan 1907. I presume this could be the same Tudor Howell School Shield? I've searched google and cant find anything about it.
