Hello,

I have a family connection with Crudgington through my grandfather Roderick Hughes who was the Station Master there for a number of years. He was the Station Master at Arenig near Bala in North Wales where my father was born in 1913, but was then moved to Crudgington Station around 1915 where my father’s 5 siblings were born. The family can be found in the 1921 census living at Station House.

I was wondering whether any members have a particular interest in Crudgington and/or the station and railway line through there ? In particular I’m wondering whether anyone has some old photographs of the station and possibly even my grandfather. I do have one very old photograph of him in his Station Master’s uniform with my grandmother and three of their children but it’s very poor quality. I was told by an aunt that at one time there was a pub lin Crudgington that had a photograph on the wall which included my grandfather but that’s probably long since disappeared.

Many thanks  in advance, Gordon Hughes

Hello Gordon

Try Lens of Sutton. They have a vast collection of railway photographs and only charge a very modest amount to provide you with a copy / copies.
