Hello All,

I am new to this list and was wondering if any member has any information with regard to the Cooper Trust. I am chasing the following names. William Cooper, William Henry Cooper -Shrewsbury Solicitors; William Sambrook, and John Munslow. Any information would be grateful. If any one can shed any light , I do have more specific information.

Thank You

Hello. If you have not already done so, you might try Putting the names into a search of Shropshire Archives' online catalogue via http://archives.shropshire.gov.uk . I have just now tried with William Cooper. Various things come up for him, including the Cooper Trust. You might find more, but I surmise tat this is a sub-file which you would need to see at the Archives.

By the way, the name of Cooper as attorneys or solicitors in Shrewsbury is new to me: one tends to think of Cooper and Co in Broseley, for whom there is a separate collection of its own.

Hello Paul

For reasons which I don't understand the link given by Martyn above, whilst apparently correct **, does not work.

You might like to try this link to Shropshire Archives Online Catalogue and see if this works.

Whilst there enter the words 'cooper trust' (without the quotes) into the Any Test box and that will bring up a few entries.

You might also want to try the A2A (Access to Archives) web site with the same search but you will need to weed out entries which don't apply.

** I think it may not want the 'www' in the address.

I have tweaked Martyn's link, so that it now works.

THE COOPER TRUST

Description

William Cooper was a Shrewsbury solicitor, and his son William Henry Cooper followed the same profession. They acquired real property in and around Shrewsbury mainly by taking advantage of deals which arose from their dealings with clients. They also had considerable property in Lancashire, based on the inheritance of William Cooper's wife, Mary Sandiford,

Martin, Thank you for the info. Re your comment about Cooper being a solicitor, please see above . I had already obtained copies of certain items from the Cooper Trust. What I was after was more explicit detail as I have other info from a will, which conflicts with some info in the Cooper Trust documents. I believe the differences are in the covering notes/description of the contents of the Trust Documents. I am very confidant that the info I have is correct and I am also not prepared to outlay the $$$$ for two words that are mixed up.

Thanks again,

Paul
