Hi I have just found your site, researching the Clemson Line.

Does anyone have information on below, taken from your pages.  So far I seem to be at a Joseph Clemson 17?? who married an Elizabeth Bradley (1788-1873) Carole

The references above appear to relate to occurrences of the name Clemson (and Clemson Smith) in the SFHS Monumental Inscription transcriptions. To find out more you can either purchase the MI transcripts for specific churches (see the SFHS publications catalogue), or visit Shropshire Archives in Shrewsbury where copies of the transcriptions are available on the open shelves for reference. The transcripts include maps showing the locations of the gravestones / memorial tablets etc within the church or church yard.

I spent the last day of my visit to Shropshire in September visiting churches and churchyards to find and photograph the stones and tablets I had identified by looking at the MI transcripts in Shropshire Archives during the week. It is only since then that I realised this site had an index to the MI transcripts and that there are several more churchyards I need to visit! That will have to wait until some time in 2012 now.

I wonder if the complete collection of MI transcripts will ever be made available on CD ROM? This would make a great companion to the Burials Index.

Going back to the original query - you could also check out records of Clemson burials in Shropshire on FamilySearch. Some of the burials may well be of people for whom the above MIs have been recorded.
