Please does anyone have a copy of the Bridgnorth Burgess List? Shropshire Archives hold a box of papers re the case of William SMALMAN and Thomas GREGORY versus Humphrey BRAYNE and Richard WALKER  (1696-98) re Pendlestone Mills which I would love to be able to study. However, I live too far away to visit and the cost of hiring a researcher would be prohibitive. Consequently I will have to make do with information given in the catalogue entry. Thomas GREGORY is my 7x great grandfather and I have his entry from the  Burgess List - he was made burgess in 1672, occupation cooper (his deed of gift  gives him as a cooper and miller). Please could some-one check the occupation of William SMALMAN for me. I would be very grateful.     Ginny

SMALMAN, William, a Grocer. His Son. Made 21 May 1717.
SMALMAN, Edward. His son. Made 28 Oct 1723.
SMALMAN, John. Another Son. Made 23 Dec 1723.
SMALMAN, Edward. Of London. Son of Edward - Painter. Made 28 Aug 1727.
