I have come across a place called Bridgen Hall listed in Bridgnorth in the 18th & 19th Centuries but am unable to find a location on any history for it. I therefore wondered if this was a Hall or a town or village? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Gwynne
I would be interested in seeing your photos Bridgen Hall too. Do you know if there was any wood paneling in the house? I was told that the paneling in my house came from a house demolished in the 1960's and it could be Bridgen Hall.... or Cann Hall or the house on the quayside! I'd love to find out.

Hi Dorothy,
I note you have since seen the available photographs of Bridgen Hall on a Facebook page.
Several large houses in Bridgnorth were demolished in that time period.
Apart from Cann Hall (late 1950's) and Bridgen Hall, there was also St James Priory (mid 1960's, that did have panelling) River Warden's house (after 1959) and later on, St John's House (1977)

Hi Lyn,
Bridgen Hall was on the site of what is now the public car park, behind the Library in Listley Street, Bridgnorth.
Built in approx. 1730, it was once the home of William BRIDGEN. The Hall was demolished in the mid 1950’s. I have one or two photographs if required.
