My Great Grandfather and Grandmother, Francis William and Mary Jane YATES farmed at Aston Farm 1871-81. I am trying to locate the farm and house, I assume it is attached to the Hall. I don't know if the house still stands. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
John A. Yates
Mike, thank you.
I have some old photo's of the house and will try to examine the roof line etc. using
Google.
Cheers from Canada!

Hello John
If you put Aston Court Mews Shifnal into a search engine it should bring up numerous references. Many of them just quote prices and statistics but if you go through them one by one, including the second and subsequent screens, you will find that some include photographs of the properties. Some of the photographs have been 'fogged' because they are no longer for sale but you can still see the property. There is a really good photo of No.4.
It might be worth rerunning the search with the word photos or images in front of the text just in case that brings up anything extra. You might even try putting the individual house numbers (1-18) in front of the text one at a time to see what that gives you.

Hello John
I don't know Aston Hall Farm personally but looking at various maps and images online it appears that the Hall and the Farm were all in one complex, that is adjacent to each other. Farms like this were often referred to as the Home Farm even if they were a short distance from the Hall.
If you look on Bing Maps and find Coppice Green Lane running north east out of Shifnal the first road on the right is Aston Court Mews which runs down to what was the farm. It appears the farm buildings have been converted into houses in recent years. Having located the site you can get a better view of it on Google Earth but because it is off the public road it doesn't appear on Street View.
