Looking for birth/baptism/marriage information about Arthur Bray, born Shropshire (possibly Worthen) circa 1715, buried Welshpool 21 Nov. 1801, and his sons, Job(e), born circa 1740 and buried in Welshpool 16 May 1803, and Thomas, buried Welshpool, 19 April 1785.
Query. How is it known that Arthur Bray was "born in Shropshire" when he was buried long before the era of Censuses?
Worthen parish had a chapelry that was in Montgomeryshire. (I keep harping on about this in postings because people forget about it. It is not covered by the IGI and to date there is not even a manuscript, let alone a printed version, and the sole source is fiches at Shropshire Archives (or orginals if dire problems). And so many entries lurk there that might put a completely different construction on pedigrees if they were known).
This is Trelystan alias Woolstonmynd.
That apart, other Monts parishes have been transcribed and printed (to a very high standard of scholarship) by Montgomeryshire Genealogical Society. Go into their site for the list of publications. Entries are now available (I am told) on usual terms via Find My Past.
Bray is a surname that I associate at earlier periods with Marton, in Chirbury (Salop) parish - and adjacent to Trelystan.
I noticed your comment about BRAY and early Marton. My BRAY ancestors are from Chirbury. Do you know of any sources for those BRAY prior to 1650?
Thanks for any and all advice.

Hello Ward
Unfortunately Martyn Freeth has died since posting the above.

A transcribed version of the early Worthen parish records can be searched online if you go to:
www.melocki.org.uk/salop/Worthen.html
I've glanced through the entries for 1715 and can't see anything that fits the bill.
