I have been doing my family tree and I have found out my grandmother had twins which were adopted to someone in Shropshire. I found what their birth names were and I have managed to find out what their christian names where changed to after adoption but I don't have a surname for them, so all my searches on this part of my family tree seems to have hit a dead end. Any help appreciated.Thanks.

I have found out that they were twin boys born in Liverpool in September 1963, I have managed to locate their birth certificates. Their birth names where Kevin and Paul Nesbitt, I have been told that their christian names could possibly have been changed to Andrew and James and that they were adopted by someone in Shropshire but unfortunately I have no idea of their surnames. Many thanks for any help.

You can go on the GRO ( General Register Office) site for adopted children

What and who is on the register
You can only find the whereabouts of an adopted person or birth relative if they have chosen to be entered on the Contact Register. Applicants can also record a wish for specific or no contact with a named individual.

Contacting a birth relative if you are adopted
You can add your details to the Adoption Contact Register if you are over 18, your birth was registered with the General Register Office, and you know:
your original birth name
your date of birth
the full name(s) of your birth mother (and birth father if known)
If you do not have all this information, you can apply for access to your birth record.

Hope that helps, BUT it will only if that other side also has registered with the GRO. There is a charge.
