BULLOCK family
Hi, I am researching my mums family history and recently discovered that we are closely related to the BULLOCK family that came from Bridgnorth. There were 2 sons, James the eldest and Henry. Their mother was called Mary and father James. Their father was a shoemaker . There are some newspaper articles about both sons getting into some trouble with the law, stealing mainly but Henry went on to be convicted for bigamy. If anyone has any information or better still photos of the any of the family then I’d be very keen to see them. I believe Mary remained in Bridgenorth after her husbands death and her sons had moved away. She appears to live very centrally to the town centre .
Many thanks

Hi Aby,
Welcome to the S.F.H.S. Forum.
At a quick glance, this BULLOCK family seems interesting.
I note that James BULLOCK, a widower and Mary ROGERS married in 1889 so Mary would have been a stepmother to James W and Henry. Henry’s birth registration in 1875 shows his mother’s maiden name as BULLOCK so perhaps he was illegitimate?
In my database of burials in Bridgnorth Municipal Cemetery, I have 5 BULLOCK burials, including a Mary BULLOCK of the right age.
If you could signify which of the 5 burials are of interest to you, I’ll go and see if there are any memorial headstones.
Birth date as calculated based on age at death.
More information may follow once I search my records.
Regards.
