Hello, I am trying to find out information about the Adams family in Pixley where Grandad William Adams was born 8 Aug 1910. He got married to Louisa A R Maycock and they moved to Church Aston where Dad Laurence William Adams was born 27 Nov 1929. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Catherine Worth, Northampton

BRIDGEN Family

I am planning an ancestral road trip with my Australian cousin at the end of November and will spend several days in Worcester researching and tracing the steps of our Bridgen and Atwood ancestors. We have discovered a lot of information about our Atwood line, but are finding it difficult to construct the family tree for our Bridgen ancestors.

What I know for certain is that Dr Thomas Atwood of Chaddesley Corbett married Catherine Bridgen in 1708. Her brother, William Bridgen, left an inheritance for Catherine's son, the Rev John Atwood of Cleobury Mortimer. I have many names of Bridgen family members from William Bridgen's will, but I am struggling to determine their relationships, as he often refers to them as "kinsmen" and "kinswomen" rather than using specific terms. William Bridgen's will was proved in January 1948. Some of the family names he lists are: James and Solomon Bridgen (kinsman).…

Hi Gwynne,

Thank you very much for reading and responding to my post.

The information you've shared is quite intriguing. Listely Street is mentioned in William Bridgen's will, and I wasn't aware they might have resided there.

Are the inscriptions you referenced in St Leonard's Church? I ask because that is the churchyard where I believe William Bridgen is buried.

Do you happen to know if a copy of the Bridgen lineage exists anywhere? I have searched online but haven't found anything yet.

Thanks again for taking the time to assist me with my research.

Cheryl

Goacher Family

Hi I am new here I have been researching the paternal side of my family tree for over 10 years now and cannot get any further than my 6th great grandfather Edward Goacher, he was born in Shropshire in 1719 and was possibly illegitimate which is why I have hit a wall because there are no records of him under the name Goacher until he appears in Leicester for a marriage to Mary Newberry. Can anyone give me any advise or where I could find any information.

George Davies

My grandfather, George Davies was born in 1884 and died in 1948. Some Census entries record him born in Peplon Fields, Newport, Salop, however we know, as recorded in most Census, he was born in St. George's. Does anyone know where Peplon Fields were in 1884.

Would it be Peplow? About 12 miles from St George's the other side of Newport
