Forum Posting Guidelines/Rules - Please Read

Welcome to the Shropshire Family History Society Forum!

While anyone can view the forum, we require that people, who want to post a question or reply to an existing post, register their name and email address with us.


When posting in the forum, we would appreciate if people can follow the following simple guidelines:


1: Use a meaningful Topic, Surnames only should be in all CAPITALS, to highlight them.

2: No adverts!

3: Relevant to Shropshire and Family History only.

4: Don't be vague, say what you are after.

5: Say what you already know/found.

6: Include where you are based (e.g. USA/Oz/UK/Shropshire) it helps.

7: Read your posting before clicking Save.

8: Acknowledge responses.

I don't seek help with my Tree, rather information of just what my ancestors might have done in or around Church Stretton in their time.

My earliest ancestor was DAVID DAVIES, wife MARY and my direct line is via their 3rd child JOHN baptised at Church Stretton in 1749. All 9 children were bap between 1745 & 1762.

David and Mary were not married there and my thought is that they migrated from Wales.

JOHN was married at Stanton Lacy in 1771 giving his home Parish as Cardington.

Farmers perhaps. Would appreciate any thoughts.
