General question (non Shropshire)
In tracing a lineage for someone, I have met an odd barrier. The family name is STELLETINO (Italian origin). In the 1911 census I have an Annibale STELLETINO living at 231 Vauxhall Bridge Road, London. He is aged 38, was bn. on Isle of Capri, Italy & has a wife (Marie) aged 37, bn. ?in Ireland but of Irish nationality. They have 6 children. The wife's maiden name appears to be MELAUGH (of different spellings). Just to make it 'interesting' the 1st Annibale, had a son bn. 1910, who was named.... Annibale!!
Also in the 1911 Census I have an A. STELLETINO. living at 75 Victoria Street, London. he is aged 38 & was born on Isle of Capri, Italy. & has a wife Marie aged 37, bn. in Ireland. They have no children, which means I can't check the wife's maiden name.
Can I really believe that there are two men with the same names, both born in Capri, Italy, both of the same age, both with wives named Marie (both of the same age), and both being Irish, living in the same area of London? It stretches my credulity. Can anyone offer any kind of possible explanation??
