Allcock/Elcock ancestors
I am tracing my ancestors Thomas ALLCOCK/ELCOCK (About 1765-1845) and Susanna HARRIS (About 1770-1852) and can't find their baptism records. The earliest record I can find online is their marriage at St. Leonard's, Broseley on 6 December 1790. Their first daughter Ann is baptized in Broseley in 1791, but the next 2 boys are baptized in St. Mary Magdalene, Bridgenorth: Samuel in 1792 and Thomas in 1797. The family moved to Merthyr Tydfil, Wales by 1799, where the elder Thomas Allcock worked as a water agent. I am hoping someone with local knowledge can help me find Thomas and Susanna's baptism records since I am in New York City.

Hi Adele
I had a look and did consider the baptism of Susanna HARRIS 5 Feb 1769 at Astley Abbotts. This parish is 3 miles from Bridgnorth on the road to Broseley. She is the daughter of John and Ann HARRIS. I have since noticed there is a marriage of a Susanna HARRIS to John EVANS at Astley Abbotts in 1786 so probably not the right one.
In case you havnt seen it the marriage banns register for their wedding at Broseley 6 Dec 1790 states they are both 'of this parish'. Thomas could write his name but Susanna could not.
Still looking.....
Best wishes
Sue
