Just a quick note to let you know that, despite the cold, a very good turnout attended last nights AGM, which was chaired by our president Sir Algernon Heber-Percy, KCVO, JP, HM Lord Lieutenant of Shropshire, until Andrew Bennett was re-elected back into the role of Chairman for the year.
Loraine Hunt was voted onto committee and we thanked Fran Batson, who was was stepping down from her role on committee but she and her husband Ron would continue as Speaker Secretaries.
This was followed by a talk on Beer, Ballots and Bribers (explaining Shrewsbury's role in 18th/early 19th century Polls) by Keith Hudson.
