I have been researching my WELLENS / WELLINS ancestors for many years and believe they may have come to Shropshire in the 16th century, possibly from London and may be having come across from the Low Countries before that although I have never been able to find a link.
I wonder if society members have come across my WELLENS / WELLINS ancestors who seemed to populate Shropshire during the 16th century.
I’ve tried for decades to find out if we were immigrants from the Low Countries but can’t find the link. I suspect they initially settled in London then chose to move to Shropshire.
Sincerely hope someone can help me, please. I began my research in 1976!
