I have ancesters (CHILTON) living on Rough Ground for several decades according to the Census returns. They were Coal/Iron Miners. I would like to know if dwellings on this land would have been built by the Mine Owners to accommodate the workers, and what kind of buildings they were.
Similarly, I have WARD/CHILTON families living at Little Eyton Fold for decades and wonder if that was also built for mining workers.
