Hi I am researching my ancestral line which has led me to Richard Gough circa bap 1830 in Ludford. He would have been a twin to sister Jane. I believe that their father was Richard Gough too and born 1802 in St Alkmunds in Shrewsbury. He married Elizabeth Burden in 1824 also in St Alkmunds. The problem I have is that I am unable to confirm this and progress further back. I have had Ancestry DNA test and this has not found any Gough matches or anything really outside my known family. However, a Big 700 Y-DNA test in America has confirmed a link to a William Goff in Chester co PA circa 1710. I wonder if any Goughs or Goffs have taken any tests or their searches could help me consider or discount any of my current leads. There seems to be several Goughs in Shropshire in the 1700 to 1900s and many use what must be a family name of Richard. Please get in touch if you are searching the same!
