Hello, I'm writing from New Zealand and hope this is the correct way of asking a question. I'm researching servicemen who were killed in our local area here in NZ during the wars. One of them was 32 year old George William POWELL born in Craven Arms (Possibly Onibury) on the 24th August 1884. His parents were William and Elizabeth POWELL married in Halford in 1870. There were 9 children, George being the 4th youngest. At some point (I have no known date) George emigrated to NZ and was working as a 'Teamster' (ploughman) on a farm in Valetta (Mid Canterbury) in the South Island of NZ. He then enlisted in the NZ Army in 1916. He was later killed in France on the 4th October 1918.  I have his military records, and the usual ww1 material along with ancestry.com info but was wondering if anyone might have any information on George, his family or when he left England. His parents remained in Craven Arms for all their lives. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Reon
