Nigel Strachan

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you of the death of Nigel Strachan our Journal editor for the past 4 years.

Under his tenure the Journal has been produced to a very high standard. He helped contributors to achieve the best results from their articles,  cajoling others to produce items and then used his expertise to put it all together. The selection of pictures both within the Journal and on the covers showed his considerable creative talent. The variety of topics covered reflected his eye for detail and flair for composition.

Nigel trained as a photographer in the 1970’s and worked for many years in the Industry so had a background that was a real benefit to the Shropshire Family History Society. He was an exuberant character and had a ready and sharp wit that was much appreciated by all who knew him.

He will be sorely missed.

Our deepest condolences go to Liz his wife, and family.
