Who Do You Think You Are? Live 2016 (Sat)

Shropshire Family History Society will be having a presence this year for all 3 days at this, probably, largest Family History event in the UK.
We will be there with all our CDs, a selection of local interest books & maps, our Shropshire HelpDesk with computer databases and a team of volunteers all on Stands 17 & 18, on a block of 10 stands, with other members of the West Midlands Group of Family History Societies, in the S.O.G section.

Thursday, Friday & Saturday until 17:30

Neil is a local historian interested in our industrial and transport heritage and has given a series of talks to societies in the Telford area. He has published a book on the fords and ferries on the Shropshire Severn.

Shropshire Family History Society will be having a small stand at the event, with a team of volunteer helpers, computers and books. They will also be selling a selection of Local Interest Books and Maps, some Family History Books and our own CDs.

Graham Bradbury from Shropshire Family History Society will be giving a talk “An Introduction to Family History” on Tuesday, 23rd February 2016 at 7.30 pm in All Saints Church, Baschurch. Entry will be £5 and will include light refreshments. Proceeds from the event will enable us to stage a Flower Festival on 23rd, 24th and 25th September 2016 to be held in All Saints Church, Baschurch, in order to raise urgently needed funds for repairs to the church roof.

A short introduction into the way elections were conducted in the late C18 and early C19, with supporting material from Shrewsbury. And some consideration of what polling information is available from that period and how it may be of use (together with some drawbacks) to those researching family history.
