Friends of Shrewsbury Cemeteries volunteer day

On the 24th November 2014 a new group was constituted; the Friends of Shrewsbury Cemeteries. This group will focus on Longden Road Cemetery and, in partnership with the owners Shropshire Council and the charity Caring for God’s Acre, aims to conserve and enhance the cemetery whilst increasing knowledge of, access to and learning about this fascinating site. We can organise volunteer involvement through practical work days, biological survey, historical research and monument recording.

Shropshire Family History Society will be having a presence this year for all 3 days at this, probably, largest Family History event in the UK.
We will be there with all our CDs, a selection of local interest books & maps, our computer databases and a team of volunteers all on Stands 105/6, on a block of 10 stands, with other members of the West Midlands Group of Family History Societies, in the S.O.G section.
