My ancestor was William SMITH (c1787-1835) of Upton Magna. He appears to have invented a cure all by the name of Ploughman's Drops. Does any one have any information on him?

I know he styled himself "Dr" Smith although he was a farmer/gentleman and lived at Upton Magna Hall although I haven't found where this was situated. He may also have been involved in a court case.

Any information will be gratefully received

There might be something tucked away on this web-site, I'm sorry I dont have time to check it all out.

Thank you, I'll have a good study of that.
