I'm currently researching the names on the war memorial in Ketley and have a problem with the above serviceman. Initial enquiries seemed to indicate a possible candidate, William Thomas, from Mossey Green who appears in the Journal as wounded in hospital but a cross was placed on the memorial last rememberence day to a William Phillips, Australian Army.
The Australian service records have a William Charles who died in 1916 and was born in Arleston.
I would be grateful to anyone who has any concrete information on "William Phillips".
