I am researching SANDERS and also WILLIAM-SCOTT.

SANDERS tree seem to have worked on the railway, starting in South Shropshire and migrating north to Shrewsbury. Eventually Living in The Chestnuts, Ironbridge in the 1950's and 60's, they have been fairly easy to track.

WILLIAM-SCOTT tree is pretty bare.
My grandmother was Muriel William-Scott, born a Crosshouses, Shrewsbury. I have been told there is a possible link to Minsterley. I am also told that Muriel had a sister called Jessie , but have not been able to back this up as yet.

Would really appreciate it if any members had especially WILLIAM-SCOTT knowledge.
Many thanks.SANDERS and also WILLIAM-SCOTT

Hi there

I'm sure members, even without direct knowledge of your family, would be willing to help. However, we could do with some dates?

Have you a birth date for your grandmother Muriel?

Do you know her parents names?

Best wishes,

Penny

The only other birth I can see from a quick glance, also with a mothers maiden name of Scott, is the one below. Although it leaves a marginal gap for her to get pregnant and have another baby! Even if she gave birth in April, she would have had to conceive straight away and then give Birth 8/9 months later - not impossible of course.

The other two have maiden names of Darlington (Frances W Scott b1921 2ndQ) and John W G Scott (b1919n 4thQ).

I can't find a Jessie or even a J W Scott in Shropshire around that time.

This marriage to 'Sanders' is definitely her. She was as his second wife, and quite a bit younger than him. On the marriage cert, she is 'spinster' not widow, and on her death cert her maiden name is recorded as Williams by her son, my uncle.. I think she wasn't sure which surname to use which way round!! I have been corrected about a potential sister's name, so need to try Louise/Louisa, forget Jessie. Re the YOUNG marriage...I wonder if this is actually her mother, also named Muriel, getting married to YOUNG. She was unmarried when she had her daughter Muriel, no fathers name is on the 1920 Muriel birth Cert., and I think the Scott comes from the real but un-named father perhaps....twists and turns!! Thanks for any help :-)

Muriel is my grandmother. My father (Paul) was Muriel's second son with John Arthur SANDERS. They had (I think) 13 children together and you are correct Muriel had a son namely John William WILLIAMS prior to meeting my grandfather. Any info you have would be greatly appreciated!
