Mike, how much info do you have on Samuel Charles? Using the Ancestry website I've found him in the 1841 and 1851 Census and also his wife in the 1861 Census. He lived in Cow Wood, Ketley and was a miner.                                                                                                                                            1841 Census :

Samuel probably died in 1856, but you would need to buy his death certificate to be certain

Hi Phil

I have the census records and now know when Samuel and Elizabeth married in Madeley.

My big stumbling block is Samuels birth place in Swansea in 1795. I have seen somewhere a record that shewed him as born 1795 in Saint mary's pariish Swansea. Problem is that I don't remember how I found or where.

The researcher at Swansea Family History Society cannot find him.

I am awaiting a death cert but don't expect it to give me much info other than what I know now.

If you can suggest anything I would be grateful.

Thanks

Mike charles

Mike,Are there any clues from his marriage record (eg name of father, names of witnesses), as I've sometimes been able to use these to substantiate evidence for my own relatives. Another trick for Welsh records is to switch forname & surname (ie search for Charles Samuel(s). Finally here's a url that may be of help: http://www.archiveswales.org.uk/anw/get_collection.php?inst_id=34&coll_id=76982&expand=   Best of luck Phil

Hi Phill

The search of the Swansea baptismal records have not proved positive.

The records are not complete apparently.

Many thanks for your help.

I do not seem to be able to get back beyond the 1841 census details

God Bless
