Richard W HAYNES (1820 - 1905) born at Iron Bridge emigrated to Montevideo and from there on his death left a legacy to Iron Bridge of 3000 dollars which was put to the 'Haynes Memorial Bridge' (or 'Free Bridge') across the Severn at Jackfield. His father Richard (1786-1830) was a Cooper in Iron Bridge. Despite trying I can find no trace of the family before Richard although I suspect that Edward HAYNES (1780-1812) first husband of Joanna HORNBLOWER, Richards wife, was in fact his brother. Can anyone help?
