Thanks.  That is the family I'm following at present but the baptism date of Thomas is somewhat strange as by LDS  baptism is 31 Mar 1816 that would make him 7yrs old when married in 1823.  (Sighted register.)  I know dates in LDS are sometimes incorrect so that is why looking for someone who has family in their line.  I will try to locate Geoff Gadd.

I recall having contributed to virtually the same query on the old SFHS message board a year or two ago; and even looking up a baptism or so. Was this yours Dianne? But cannot recall the conclusions, if any, that were reached. If this was not yours have you tried for any postings by that other researcher elsewhere on the web?

Yes I have been following this line for some time.  I have had a break and just getting back on to this one.  I have been following Thomas Gad & Elizabeth Gad nee Banks parents of James b. 1824. Have copy of baptism & death of James verifying Thomas & Elizabeth parents.  Sighted marriage records which verify married 1823, but the problem being all census put Thomas & Elizabeth b. abt. 1816 ,but that would make Thomas 7 years old when married.  See the problem. Can follow census for this family right up until1891 age 75.  Do not know parents of Thomas. There was a death for 1900 on Free BMD coinciding with birth at 1816. Found a birth for a Thomas b.1793 which is more a realistic birth date.  Thought to follow that. Might have to leave it there and move on. Hopefully down the line I might find out more. I'm just at a brick wall on how to narrow the possibles down.  I seem to be going in circles.

Dianne. Unfortunately I did not save the postings on the old message board, but seem to recall that the problem was addressed as far as practicable. Only item that might now be new is burial, per SFHS Burials Index, 8.12.1818 at St Mary's, Market Drayton of Thomas Gadd, Little Drayton, aged 25. This presumably is he bap "Feb" 1793 at MD - which I think that I checked out for you.

Thanks Martyn,

I will try and locate past messages to refresh.  They have to be here somewhere.  Just getting back into this one.  Thanks for the burial index.  That seems to eliminate Thomas of 1818.  Will let you know if I find him.
