I think the attached is a Probate - 1669. Richard Nicholls, son of Thomas Nicholls. Is anybody able to 'translate' the Latin in the document? I willhen look at locating the appropriate Will

Thanks

Hello Ken

Your attachment hasn't appeared on the forum page so can you tell us where you found the information.

Which Probate Registry is it from?  A full link to the page would be helpful.

Hello Ken

Having had a friend look at the image you sent me here is a summary of its contents.  I have sent a full transcript direct to you.

In summary, what happened is that Richard Nicholls [senior] died & the administration of his estate was granted to his son [also] Richard. He then died before he could carry it through to completion. So the elder Richard's son Thomas applied for the administration of his father's estate and that of his mother Joan, at the same time.

Thanks Mike, I appreciate your time & effort with this. All I have to do now is see if they 'fit in' with my family. There are certainly some common names with these people.  Ken
